Dan Powers

Dan leads Accenture’s Journey to Cloud practices and teams for CMT North America, responsible for working with clients on their journey to “what’s next” in the Cloud.

Prior to Accenture Dan spent 5 years as the Global Director for Google’s Cloud business and led the business development, sales, technical, and M&A partnership ecosystem and teams. Before that he was the CRO for Amazon Web Services where he led sales, technical sales, professional services, and partnership teams globally.

Earlier in his career he had seasoned tenure with IBM as an executive where he led many key strategic and business initiatives around the next generation of computing: Cloud (Public & Private), Enterprise Software, Virtualization, Grid computing, Linux, SOA, along with Storage and Open Source technologies.

Dan is also the founder of World Community Grid ( www.worldcomunitygrid.org ), a global grid where you can donate your device’s spare computing power to help scientists solve the world’s biggest problems in health and sustainability. Holding an MBA from the Wharton Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Mathematics from RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology). He is also an avid technology/gadget enthusiast, homebrewer, ultimate frisbee player, ukulele player and has 3 great kids who are the light of his life and greatest achievement.
