Biography

Shane Corder has been the HPC Systems Engineer at the Center for Pediatric Genomic Medicine of Children’s Mercy Kansas City since 2011, where he has established an HPC system to give maximum throughput for diagnosis in pediatric genomics and personalized medicine. He has aided not only the Center for Pediatric Genomic Medicine’s HPC efforts but also other such efforts throughout the hospital. Shane has been instrumental in aspects of Children’s Mercy’s research and has been part of the launch of clinical genomic and other research tests, including a cancer panel and the 50-hour genomic test.  He is self-taught in the field of HPC, but has significant experience including 7 years designing, building, installing and supporting HPC clusters for Advanced Clustering Technologies. His interests include HPC, Genomics, Meteorology, system performance tuning, and system automation.
